Screen: Add a receipt, phone
Open Brainbrook, tap Add a receipt, and take the photo while the receipt is still flat on the passenger seat. You can also upload a file, a PDF, JPG, PNG or HEIC, and on Plus you can forward an emailed receipt to your household's own address instead. When the total and the date are legible on the photo, Brainbrook suggests them, marked "suggested from the photo, confirm it", and nothing is kept until you have confirmed every field. The paper can fade after this. The photo will not.

Pick who the receipt was for, tap HSA or FSA, choose a category if you want one for sorting, and leave the status on Owed back. Add a note in your own words if it will help later: frames and lenses, paid at pickup. Tap Keep this receipt. From then on it is a complete record: the photo, every fact a request asks for, who added it and when, the plan date on that account, and a button that downloads the record as a PDF.

Screen: Ledger home, phone
The ledger home opens on one number, what the household is still owed back, with its receipt count underneath and a line each for HSA and FSA. Below it, this plan year in three quiet figures: kept, reimbursed, owed back. Then the next date you entered with its day count, and the most recent receipts, newest first, each with its member, tag, amount and status word. When a reimbursement lands, open the receipt and tap Mark reimbursed. The number changes. Nothing else does.
